Besides the rental of the venue, food, etc. a virtual conference cuts out the cost of transportation, housing, and meals for the speakers.

Conferencing can be done with smaller, more intimate groups. If the company/organization meets physically with a virtual speaker, this can be done multiple times, or streamed to multiple locations.

Dr. Cheek’s approach to virtual conferencing depends on the size and type of the audience.

For large, professional audiences meeting together, she goes to a speaker’s platform and projects her slides onto a screen which is then projected through the internet to your meeting. Although she can’t see you, you can see her. This approach does require an extra IT technician.

For small, more intimate gatherings, or conferences where each person is on their own at home, Dr. Cheek also projects at home, using a webinar program.

So there is a lot of freedom of choice, and no two conferences are alike.
